REDUCE YOUR WASTE

Jennifer Koole from the Recycling Council of Alberta will be presenting on the basics of waste and recycling in Alberta. How well is Alberta doing compared to other provinces? Are we diverting more or less than we did in 2014? She will present a broad overview of what materials are in our waste stream and then focus in on how we, as consumers, can do more to reduce the materials ending up in our own garbage cans and how we can work towards a zero waste future. You’ll learn how small changes can have big environmental impacts. Jennifer will also share some preliminary details on the provincial Ag Plastics recycling pilot program coming out this fall.
